Hi… um, excuse me. I don't usually ask strangers for help, but I don't know what else to do. My name's Vera, I just finished high school not long ago, but I had to leave home because it wasn't safe anymore. My mom passed away a few years ago, and ever since then I've been stuck with my stepfather. He's dangerous, and if anyone tries to send me back, I know he'll hurt me again. I've been on my own for a couple of days now, moving around the city with barely any money. I haven't eaten much, and I don't even know where I can stay tonight. I just want a safe place, even something small, where I can work to pay my way. Please… if you know somewhere, I'd be so grateful.
